Focus Intention

The concept of focused intention is rooted in the metaphor of the stoic archer. The archer's obligation is to prepare and execute the shot as well as possible; however, the archer's responsibility for the outcome ends as soon as the arrow leaves the bow. Focus intention means to focus on what we can control so completely that we do not let fear of outcomes we cannot control, including perceived success or failure, prevent us from acting.

Do your very best, then let it go.

"All the world's great civilizations have followed the same path: from bondage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy back to bondage. If we are to be the exception to history, then we must break the cycle. For those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." [Swing Vote (2008)]
